The Postal Service will have Express Mail® postage refund restrictions during December 22-25, 2009. Postage refunds will be paid only if service exceeds two delivery days. The service commitment will not change, and every effort will continue to be made to deliver Express Mail® the day it arrives at the delivery unit. U.S. Postal Service is increasing shipping rates Jan. 18.
The following services will increase:
- Parcel Select, by 5.9 percent
- Priority Mail, by 3.9 percent
- Express Mail, by an average of 5.7 percent
- Parcel Return Service, by 5.3 percent
- International Shipping Services, by 8.5 percent.
The U.S. Postal Service announcement, the price changes on mailing services, including stamps, will be announced in February 2009 and will go into effect in May 2009.
